Methodist Speciality Care Center in Flowood is a long-term residential facility designed for younger severely disabled persons. The Center provides skilled clinical services in a warm and beautiful living environment that allows our residents to thrive.
| Our residents are active, social and interested in learning new things. Every effort is made to fulfill their clinical, social and spiritual needs so they may enjoy life to the fullest extent possible. Our volunteers play a very important role in this mission. |
| While volunteers don’t earn an hourly wage, they are compensated in other ways. The rewards of volunteering include socialization, opportunities for learning and the satisfaction you get from helping someone out of the goodness of your heart. One of the best things about volunteering is that its an opportunity to do something you really enjoy. The skills gained as a volunteer will give the confidence and boost needed on a resume, sure to be ready to shine at an interview.

For students in the 11th and 12th grade or those 17 years and older, the rewards of volunteering are just as valuable. It offers opportunities to learn about careers and to get a taste of what awaits you in the world of work. For many students, volunteer hours are required for graduation. By choosing the right place to volunteer, students can turn a requirement into a good experience with benefits for years to come.
